The lives of Israeli victims hang critically in the balance following events of suicide terror, violence and war. Families often anxiously wait outside hospital Emergency and Intensive Care Units for an encouraging word. Our ‘Hands of Mercy’ team-visits to these suffering families offer emotional and spiritual encouragement, especially needed during these first crucial days of recovery. Through expressions of deep compassion and concern, close relationships often begin here and last for years.
FAMILY COMFORT & SUPPORT
Other emergency family situations arise in the lives of recovering soldiers and victim families following serious injuries. Our compassion ministry is contacted at times by local social workers and military liaison-reps, as we offer assistance to overwhelmed government agencies in their response to these family crises. Whenever possible, we are honored to help meet these needs. In addition, we offer counseling and a prayer network, which provides comfort and encouragement so desperately needed throughout the long and difficult period of recovery.
FAMILIES IN CRISIS
Tragic events often strike in Israel without warning, leaving families engulfed in sorrow for months, and even years. Our ‘Hands of Mercy’ teams reach out to empathically share these painful losses, as victims lie in hospital beds or are indisposed in their own homes, and especially as family members and/or friends are laid to rest. Our ministry seeks to develop tangible ways to stay connected as we assist these recovering victim families and soldiers during the months and years following the traumatic events. Visiting in their homes, sharing coffee and providing a listening ear can make all the difference for people whose lives have been shocked and traumatized. As we listen, pray, and contribute to their personal, emotional, and practical needs, hope is slowly restored and healing begins for these devastated families. This remains the heart of G-D’s mercy and ours! These expressions of comfort, encouragement and faith remain the most precious gifts we can give!
