A compassion outreach on the frontlines of Israel

Hands of Mercy International is a humanitarian relief organisation dedicated to providing comfort and practical support to families and individuals experiencing trauma, crisis, poverty and social disadvantage in Israel and around the world.

We are mobilising the love and concern of caring individuals throughout the world to provide a practical source of encouragement and hope in the lives of vulnerable individuals facing crisis and disadvantage. We also collaborate with IDF in providing them with tactical gear and boosting their morale from the war front.

How we are making a difference

Assistance to individuals and communities affected by war and terrorism

Since 1992, Hands of Mercy has been actively assisting individuals and families victimised by suicide terrorism and war throughout Israel, including many victims of the horrific wave of suicide terrorism during the 'Second Intifada'. Between 2009 and 2021, 'Hands of Mercy' operated 'Tents of Victory', a humanitarian outreach center established to assist vulnerable members of the small community of S'derot, which has endured years of relentless rocket fire from the neighbouring Gaza Strip. In 2022, in response to the dire situation of Ukrainian civilians trapped in areas of armed conflict in the Russia-Ukraine war, Hands of Mercy has courageously began to participate in civilian evacuations and other front-line humanitarian work in Ukraine, in partnership with the German charity 'House of Hope'.

Outreach to youth at risk

Motivated by compassion and deeply moved by tragic stories, the Hands of Mercy team opened the Adullam outreach center for at-risk youth in Jerusalem in 2019. Until 2021, it served as a sanctuary with emergency accommodation, meals, activities, and robust support. Despite its closure, the 'Mercy team' continues outreach through support groups, ensuring ongoing help for at-risk youth.

Excitingly, our German partner, House of Hope, pre-financed a visionary project—a transformative Hope Center in Ashdod, heavily impacted by rocket attacks. In collaboration with local pastors, the Hope Center aims to empower believers, focusing on Ukrainian and Russian-speaking communities. Beyond Ashdod, the broader vision is to create a replicable blueprint for Hope Centers in various locations, extending positive impact far beyond a single city.

Street outreach

Hands of Mercy's dynamically expanding street outreach brings practical demonstrations of G-D's love to street people and slum dwellers in some of the most desperate and disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva. At least once a week, enthusiastic teams of young volunteers bring food and hot drinks, blankets and coats, along with words of compassion and encouragement to some of the most broken and marginalised individuals in Israel, including young and old street dwellers, drug addicts, criminals, sex workers and undocumented migrants.

Rehabilitation and crisis preparedness

Our founder Yeshi Reinhardt had a long-term vision to establish a sustainable farming project which could serve as a place of long-term healing and rehabilitation for the vulnerable people we serve, as well as a resource to achieve sustainability and preparedness for the difficult days ahead.

Inspired by Yeshi's vision and the Biblical example of Joseph, we are preparing to launch 'Adullam Farm', a place of refuge and healing for traumatised and vulnerable people. 'Adullam Farm' will teach and practice sustainable, high-tech food production methods, with a vision to become a resource for sustainable humanitarian food distribution. We are developing this project for a witness and blessing to Israel as we enter days of unprecedented challenges.
